White Matter

I watched a short documentary last night on memory. The shitty screen shots above are representations of white matter in our brain. White matter is the fleshy parts of the brain that builds connections between the gray matter. The connections that help us to learn and make connections as we go through our day to day lives.
They are the strings, the source of one form on human inter-connectivity.

Considering some quiet watercolors, in muted colors, in relation to this idea and imagery.

Workspace resolutions..

Gettin' fuckin' organized..yea!
After rearranging the couches, hanging a milk crate on the wall, and condensing some stuff I have some more space to work. I also hooked up that light...and look how much more fucking light I have!! Holy shit!!
I also have an office chair Ben found in the basement (not pictured) so I'll have some more back support. woo!

another painting in a home

New Painting!

I (barely) started this painting over the summer, so here it is at its completed state. I'm going to be submitting this piece in RoCo's Members Exhibition.
(Apologies for the shitty lighting...I'll take a better shot of this, probably when its in the gallery)

Process shot, still wet:

When I propped the painting up after one session, the painting dripping off the canvas made some sweet patterns!

Artist process shots

When I first moved to Rochester, I spent most of my days obsessively trolling craigslist for jobs, artist opportunity, etc. I came across an ad written by RIT student, Laura Prochilo, looking for local artists to photograph and interview for a photojournalism project. Remembering the countless times I was desperate for subjects and help with projects in school and liking the idea of getting some cool photos of my work/process, I replied.
So here are some of the shots Laura took. Also, if you click on her name above, it links to her Facebook page..really sweet photograph and a really cool person!

The painting I'm working on in these shots has come long way since this shoot, and there are some photos of it to come (*once its dried).
