Vietnam: Day 30
Day 30 (Monday, Feb 2, 09): Ho Chi Mihn City free (B)
Class Session in the Morning. Free afternoon in Ho Chi Minh City.
Alternative for the afternoon in Ho Chi Minh City. In the afternoon, we visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels, a Byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers, rooms, and booby traps used by both the Vietminh and the Viet Cong to suddenly materialise as if from nowhere, launch a lightning ambush, and vanish equally rapidly. In the afternoon, we'll return to Ho Chi Minh City. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
The price for this alternative is not included in the tour programme. You we wish to take this exrcursion, we can consider to do it on Feb 1 at extra cost.
Art 487: Vietnam Location Photography, 3 credits;
Art 382: Alterantive Photographic Processes, 3 credits.
no journal entry on this day
Looking back...
This was a pretty good day. Most of us went to the tunnels, which was a really cool experience. It was really interesting to see how the tunnels were used and what kind of death traps the Viet Cong set to basically take down American soliders.
A few people were pissed to find out that they couldn't get there traveller's checked exchanged because our visas had expired on the pervious day. That was not a good thing.
P also came back to us that night. S stayed in Thailand and was expected to be moved as soon as they could move her; from Thailand to Tokyo to Philly. She came home about 3 days after we did.
This epic trip is finishing up and the next and last day/entries are a pretty good reflection on the whole trip.
